JOB DESCRIPTION

Demco is looking for a detail-minded Manufacturing Inventory Associate to keep materials moving from our warehouse to the production floor. You'll organize and deliver inventory for manufacturing orders, stock work centers with the supplies they need, and help keep our warehouse safe, accurate, and well organized.

This is an entry-level position with a clear path forward. You'll build the material handling, inventory accuracy, and systems skills needed to advance to Manufacturing Inventory Specialist. No prior experience is required, and we'll train you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Work safely

  • Use safe lifting, material handling, and equipment operation practices throughout the warehouse and manufacturing floor
  • Keep aisles, staging areas, and storage locations clear and organized
  • Promptly report unsafe conditions, damaged racking or packaging, and equipment concerns to your supervisor

Deliver accurate inventory

  • Pull, organize, and deliver the right materials in the right quantities to the right work centers for manufacturing orders
  • Verify item numbers, quantities, and locations against the work order before disbursing materials
  • Spot discrepancies in count, location, labeling, or condition, and flag them to your supervisor for investigation
  • Use inventory on a First In, First Out (FIFO) basis so older stock is used first

Keep production running

  • Stage and deliver materials on time so work centers run without delays
  • Pull support items such as packaging and restock boxes
  • Move completed shipments from work centers to shipping as needed
  • Consolidate raw materials to maximize warehouse space and keep locations accurate
  • Assist in other areas of the facility as needed

Work as a team

  • Communicate with work center operators and supervisors about material needs, priorities, and shortages
  • Coordinate with receiving, inventory, and shipping team members to keep materials flowing between departments
  • Learn from experienced inventory team members and take advantage of cross-training opportunities

Help us improve

  • Suggest ideas to improve material flow, storage, and organization
  • Develop working knowledge of inventory systems, transactions, and cycle counting to prepare for advanced responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift and stockpicker certification, or willingness to obtain it after hire
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and prioritize tasks
  • Dependable, organized, and eager to learn

Preferred

  • Material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 70 pounds
  • Move and handle heavy and bulky materials
  • Stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day
  • Work overtime when needed
